About Sat Tara
Sat Tara Kaur Khalsa, MS, LPC received her B.A. from Smith College and her Master of Science Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling in 1974. Since that time, she has been in the mental health field in a variety of settings. She has taught Kundalini Yoga and Meditation since 1972, combining it with psychotherapy to create Personalized Wellness Programs. In 2002, she developed her model of Integrated Women’s Sexuality. For seven years of her career she worked as a social worker handling hundreds of cases of child abuse and sexual abuse. In private practice, she has assessed hundreds of cases regarding custody and divorce issues. She is a former faculty member of the Institute for Advanced Dispute Resolution. Sat Tara has received extensive training in Mediation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Eriksonian Hypnotherapy, E.M.D.R. and various other modalities. However her greatest love is for Brainspotting! She has been personally trained by the developer and principal trainers of this modality. Sat Tara has completed Brainspotting Levels I and II and has completed 3 intensives (1 by David Grand and 2 by Lisa Schwarz). She is the author of numerous CDs, articles and Divorce Survival and Recovery.
Sat Tara has been actively involved in community service through a group she founded five years ago called the Women’s Global Forum, a consortium of over 100 organizations and individuals doing international work. She has also worked extensively in Collaborative Law and community mediation. She is the past president of Women Caring for Women.
Sat Tara is married and has two grown children. She lives and works in Boulder, Colorado. She particularly enjoys the outdoors and photography. Sat Tara has been a Sikh since 1972. To read more about her turban, click here.

Chicago, Illinois: 14 years of terrible weather and where I was a child abuse social worker
Hamilton, Montana: 2 years of small town Rocky Mountain living and motherhood
